Meet the Team
Mrs Anderson joined the Puller teaching team in September 2017. She was awarded a BA Hons. in Social Policy and Management from Royal Holloway, University of London and a PGCE (Distinction) from the University of Hertfordshire. Prior to working at Puller, Mrs Anderson was a class teacher for nine years at a number of Hertfordshire primary schools, where she gained a wealth of experience across all of the primary key stages. In addition to teaching, Mrs Anderson also enjoyed a ten year career in communications during which she worked as a government press officer and communications consultant.
Serena Pressman is committed to student success inside the classroom and in life. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology; both degrees are from the University of Arkansas. Serena received her QTS from Essex Teacher Training in 2016.
Serena has been working in primary schools since 2013; she has also been a lecturer in universities and colleges in the USA teaching American National Government and Criminal Justice courses. Her employment background also includes working for the advertising company Saatchi & Saatchi, being a Human Resources manager and working as a Public Safety Dispatcher for a police department in America. Her varied background and expertise all aide her in understanding the wide range of needs of pupils and what they strive to become.
Serena is currently working with the University of Hertfordshire in developing our STEM department and teaches science and STEM to KS2.
Serena likes anything to do with science, STEM and family. She dislikes bad manners. In her spare time she likes going for nice long walks, spending time with family and reading a good book. As a child her favourite books were The Famous Five by Enid Blyton; Serena still enjoys a good adventure and mystery book.
Serena’s heroes are: her mum “she is always there for me, supports me, and loves me unconditionally” and David Attenborough “I absolutely love how hard he has and still is working for wildlife and the environment, at the same time educating us on the planet and animals. His enthusiasm for nature is amazing!”
Serena’s favourite quotes both come from Dr. Seuss:
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose…”
“In my world, everyone’s a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies!”
