Albury & Puller Nursery & Primary Schools

School Dinners - Puller

School meals are freshly cooked, by our fantastic Cook Manager, Mrs Carol Iron, and provide a well-balanced nutritious lunch as well as good value for money.  However, parents may choose to provide a packed lunch or purchase a healthy packed lunch from school. Pupils choose their lunch each day from the Pupils’ Choice Menu offered by Hertfordshire Catering Ltd. We have a three week rotation menu with 3 options to choose from every day, two hot meals (one meat and one vegetarian choice) and a cold meal option.

If your child is going to be late arriving at school for any reason, please telephone their meal choice by 9am.

The cost of the meals for children in key stage 2 (year 3 - 6) are £3.20.  Nursery Children may purchase a meal for £2.75. Children in Reception to Year 2 receive the Universal Free School Meals.  Prices are set annually by Hertfordshire Catering Limited.

Your child's teacher will be able to let your child know what is on the menu and to find out more about the meal choices you may contact Herts Catering direct by clicking on the picture below:

Allergen Information is available upon request.  Pupils with a medically diagnosed dietary need should inform the school.  Consultation meeting between parents/carers, cook and Herts Catering Managers will be made to discuss the dietary need of the pupil before meals can be provided.  The school kitchen and school meals are nut free.

Mid Morning Break

Our school participates in the Hertfordshire Fruit & Vegetable scheme.  Under this scheme children in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2 are provided with fruit or vegetables every day as a healthy snack.  KS2 children are encouraged to bring their own healthy snack to be eaten during the mid-morning break, eg dried fruit, fresh fruit or a cereal bar.

Milk is available at morning breaktime for Early Years Foundation Stage.

Drinking Water

All children are asked to bring in drinking water in a sports bottle with a leak-proof top (no glass or breakable containers, please).  The bottle is accessible to children at all times during the day and they will be able to re-fill it with fresh drinking water throughout the day. Water bottles should be taken home regularly for cleaning.
