RE
Our Vision for Religious Education at Puller Memorial
We explore Christianity through key concepts such as God, Creation, Incarnation, Gospel and Salvation, while also learning about other worldviews including Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Humanism. This helps children develop respect and understanding for all.
Intent
Our curriculum develops deep knowledge of Christianity and encourages thoughtful engagement with the Bible. Pupils are challenged to reflect, ask questions and understand both faith and diversity in the world.
Implementation
Using Understanding Christianity, pupils build knowledge through Bible stories and key concepts across each stage. RE is taught weekly, with a focus on Christianity alongside other faiths. Enrichment weeks, including Bible storytelling, drama and art, bring learning to life.
Impact
Pupils leave Puller Memorial able to:
- Speak confidently about their beliefs and values
- Show kindness, respect and understanding to others
- Demonstrate clear knowledge of Christianity and other faiths
Our aim is that every child grows spiritually, morally and culturally, equipped to live well in a diverse world.

Spirituality
Teaching Spirituality through WOW – OW – NOW – HOW
At our school, spirituality is taught through a Christian lens, helping pupils reflect on God, themselves, others, and the world. Using the WOW – OW – NOW – HOW approach allows children to develop awe, ask questions, reflect deeply, and live out Christian values in their daily lives.
WOW – Wonder and Awe
Pupils are encouraged to experience awe and wonder in God’s creation through stories, nature, worship, music, and learning across the curriculum.
This helps children recognise God’s presence in the world and develop the Christian values of thankfulness, hope, and joy.
OW – Questions and Feelings
Children are supported to ask big questions about God, faith, and life, and to express their thoughts and emotions.
They learn to listen respectfully to others, showing love, respect, and compassion, following the example of Jesus.
NOW – Reflection and Meaning
Pupils are given time to reflect on what they have learned and how it connects to their own lives.
They consider Christian teachings such as love, forgiveness, honesty, and humility, and think about what these mean for them today.
HOW – Living It Out
Children are encouraged to think about how their learning and faith shape their actions.
They are supported to live out Christian values by showing kindness, service, forgiveness, and care for others and God’s world in their everyday choices.
