Year 1 Letter

Dear Parents and Children in Yr 1

Firstly, let me say thank you for your continued support as we head into our final week of home learning. It has been a huge adjustment for us all, and I think everyone has done an amazing job of getting their children to engage with school from home. I realise that some days are harder than others. Personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Puller children over Zoom and of course being able stay in contact with my class from Albury.

We have got an exciting week ahead with World Book Day on Thursday 4^th March. We will be enjoying an “Author and Illustrator Academy” session with Joseph Coelho and Fiona Lumbers, and after reading “Luna Loves World Book Day” the children can create their own World Book Day character using a potato! They can decorate their potato using paint and other craft materials to create eyes, ears, and clothing – and maybe even a magical unicorn horn! 

Please do keep sending your child’s work in for me to look at, and also another reminder that if you would like to discuss with me your child’s home learning experience, what areas they have found challenging or any concerns about them returning to school, please email me at krussell@albury.herts.sch.uk and we can set up a zoom meeting or phone call next week.
