Welcome to Albury Seedlings!
Albury Seedlings are part of the Early Years family and spend time exploring the Early Years environment. They enjoy playing with sand, water, playdoh, paint and spend time outside discovering and exploring.
Every Tuesday the Albury Seedlings take part in the 'Toddler Group' in the school hall where physical activities are offered such as scuttlebugs and soft-play.
From September 2015, Albury School have offered flexible pre-school places for 2 year old children. Children may join Albury Seedlings at the start of the school term after they turn 2. Parents have the option of any combination of morning sessions 9:00 – 12:00, lunch 12:00 – 1:00 (hot school lunches can be provided on request) and afternoon sessions 1:00 – 3:00. We can also provide nap facilities after lunch if required. There is an on site after school club which runs until 6:30pm. Our Seedlings group use and explore the EYFS learning environments, including our sensory garden, mud kitchen, play loft, book corner, soft play area, painting, sand and water area, writing house and vegetable garden.
The Seedlings key person is Mrs Emery, who is a qualified teacher with experience across all primary age groups. Mrs Emery works closely with Miss Young, Mrs Cole and Mrs Jennings, who all support and lead in the Early Years and Seedlings at various times throughout the week. Our Seedlings children have a maximum 1:4 adult to child ratio and work alongside our small Nursery and Reception group of 8 children. We have found that this mixed age, family style environment allows us to develop children’s emerging interests and provide a warm and nurturing environment for our youngest learners.
All three and four year olds, and some two year olds are currently entitled to 15 hours a week free early education. This is due to rise to 30 hours a week from September 2017. (Check your eligibility.) Albury School is registered to accept funded 2, 3 and 4 year olds for free early education. Non funded sessions are charged at £5.05 per hour (from September 2019) All sessions must be pre-booked and paid for, (if applicable), on a termly basis in advance. Spaces can be limited and we allocate sessions on a’ first come, first served’ basis.
If you would like an Albury Seedlings place for your child, please complete the admissions form and return it to the school office as soon as possible.
