Albury Pre-school

Welcome to Pre-school!

Albury Pre-school is part of the Early Years family, sharing the classroom with the Nursery and Reception children.  The children can enjoy playing with sand, water, playdoh, paint and spending time outside discovering and exploring.

Every Tuesday Pre-school children take part in the 'Toddler Group' in the school hall where physical activities are offered such as scuttlebugs and soft-play.

Albury School offers flexible pre-school places for 2 year olds. Children may join our Pre-school at the start of the school term after they turn 2. Parents have the option of any combination of morning sessions 9:00 – 11.45, lunch 12:00 – 1:00 (hot school lunches can be provided on request) and afternoon sessions 1:00 – 3.15. We can also provide nap facilities after lunch if required. There is an on site after school club which runs until 5:30pm. Our Pre-school children use and explore the EYFS learning environments, including our sensory garden, mud kitchen, play loft, book corner, soft play area, painting, sand and water area, writing house and vegetable garden.

The Pre-school key person is Ms Emery, who is a qualified teacher with experience across all primary age groups. Ms Emery works closely with Miss Young, Mrs Cole and Miss Butterfield, who all support and lead in the Early Years class at various times throughout the week.  The pre-school children have a maximum 1:4 adult to child ratio and work alongside our small Nursery and Reception. We have found that this mixed age, family style environment allows us to develop children’s emerging interests and provide a warm and nurturing environment for our youngest learners.

Government funding for pre-school (15/30 hours) is available to some two, three and four years olds. Please check your eligibility!

Albury School is registered to accept funded 2, 3 and 4 year olds for free early education. Non funded sessions are charged at £5.43 per hour (from September 2020) All sessions must be pre-booked and paid for, (if applicable), on a termly basis in advance. Spaces are limited and we allocate sessions on a 'first come, first served’ basis.

If you would like an Albury Pre-school place for your child, please complete the admissions form and return it to the school office as soon as possible.
