Dear Year 1

Well I can hardly believe that we have completed our first full week of remote home learning. You are all superstars, and you should definitely give yourselves a pat on the back for all the hard work you have completed this week.

As well as the activities listed on the weekly timetable, I hope that you are all finding time to read to your grown-ups. It’s really important to keep that up. We are looking at being able to continue with Read, Write, Inc at home, however availability of resources are currently holding this up. So please do keep up with your reading. I have put some red words on the Year 1 Home Learning page for you to practice. I hope that you have had a chance to listen to our Class Reader…The Tales of Olga da Polga. It’s a wonderful book and I think you’ll enjoy it.

Sadly, one of the things we are unable to do right now is have our Collective Worship. However, that does not mean we cannot worship at home. I have posted some wonderful activities in order to be able to be reflective during these strange times. This week we are focusing on Compassion.

Hopefully any glitches in our Zoom calls have now been ironed out, and everybody should be able to get onto our daily Registration and Maths Lesson without any problems. But from Monday your grown-up will need to enter a Passcode in order to join the session. I will email this out to them prior to Monday’s learning. If there are any problems logging on, please call Mrs Waight in the Albury School Office on 01279 771253.

I will be available to answer emails between 10am and 4pm if you have any queries regarding the work set. Please also submit any work to my email address by 4pm on a Friday. Please note that lessons should take around 30 to 45 minutes each and make sure you take breaks and enjoy the fresh air. Be kind to yourself!
